Many children in and around Charlotte sleep on the floor every night, living in homes without beds or furniture.

Rabian knew she needed to leave the toxic relationship with her children’s father. But creating a new life as a single mom of two wasn’t easy.
She and her girls moved out, excited for a fresh start and their own space. But for the first few weeks, their new place was completely empty.
They had nothing but an air mattress, and all three of them would cram onto it to sleep at night.
At times, Rabian felt like she was “less than” as a mom, but she was determined to create a better life for herself and her daughters.
When she got connected with Beds for Kids, she immediately felt seen and supported.
Beds for Kids not only helped find beds for her and her two children, but they also asked her what else she needed: dressers, bookshelves, couches, and chairs.
She needed it all, and Beds for Kids delivered—literally.
The truck arrived while Rabian’s children were at school. As they unloaded furniture for her entire home, Rabian and the volunteers talked, laughed, and prayed together. Rabian couldn’t wait to see the joy on her children’s faces when they got home.
Today, Rabian is in a better place than she ever thought.

About Beds for Kids
Beds for Kids is a Charlotte-based 501(c)3 that provides beds and essential furniture to children and their families in need. We deliver mattresses, cribs, tables, sofas, lamps, and other necessities directly to homes in Mecklenburg and Cabarrus Counties. We currently furnish 30 homes a week.
The families we serve have faced adversity such as homelessness, domestic violence, foster care, and economic hardship. Many are single moms. Every home we serve has at least one child who needs a bed, and we guarantee beds for everyone in the household.
Together, we can help families in our community get back on their feet, turn their house into a home, and furnish brighter futures. Will you make sure no child has to sleep on the floor?
